Car 88 to appear at the Bluebell's 50th celebrations

Car 88 will take part in the Bluebell Railway's 50th Anniversary celebrations 5BEL motor third Car 88 will make its first post-restoration appearance at the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Bluebell Railway. She will join the cavalcade coupled to Pullman Kitchen First 'Doris'.

The 50th Anniversary celebrations will run from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th August. Other visitors to the event will include the oldest operational steam locomotive, Furness Railway No. 20, and the newest, Pacific 60163 'Tornado'.

It is anticpated that 'Doris' will become the centrepiece of the restored Brighton Belle. Car 88 and Doris were both part of the 3051 train set; when the carriages are coupled together again on 6th August, this will be the first time that they have operated together as a unit for almost forty years.
