Bluebell Railway 50th Anniversary Celebration |
|
Brighton Belle motor brake Car 88 will be joining in the 50th Anniversary Celebrations at the Bluebell Railway (details here), coupled to Parlour First 'Doris'. Other confirmed exhibitors include Britain's oldest steamable mainline locomotive, Furness Railway No.20 (1863), and the youngest, Peppercorn A1 Pacific 60163 Tornado" (2008). To secure the future of the Bluebell, the railway's Northern Extension Project will soon see the Railway steaming back into East Grinstead over Imberhorne Viaduct, thus achieving the ambition of the pioneers who 50 years ago formed the Bluebell Railway Preservation Society.
Location: Sheffield Park Station, East Sussex TN22 3QL (01825 720800) - map here.
Dates: Friday 6 to Sunday 8 August 2010 - opening hours 9am - 6.00pm.
